Privacy

Your content goes to Notion. That's the whole path.

Your captured content never touches our servers. It goes from your browser directly to the Notion API. Filed stores only what it needs to operate: your email, your plan status, and anonymous capture statistics. This is not a privacy policy: it is the product architecture.

What happens when you save something

What we collect
Nothing

No content logging. Filed stores your email and plan status to manage your subscription, and anonymous capture statistics to improve the product. No URLs, text, or Notion data ever reaches our servers.

Your OAuth token
Local only

When you connect Notion, your OAuth token is stored in Chrome's encrypted local storage. It never leaves your browser except to authenticate with Notion's API directly.

Your saved content
Goes to Notion

The content of what you save goes directly from your browser to the Notion API. Two Pro features are exceptions: AI summary sends article text to our AI provider, and PDF import extracts text server-side. Neither is retained after processing. For everything else, Filed's servers are not in the path.

This website
Basic analytics

The marketing website (usefiled.app) uses privacy-respecting analytics to count visits. No personal data, no cross-site tracking. The extension has none.

Questions about privacy

Can Filed read my Notion content?

No. The extension only sends data to Notion. It does not read from your workspace. The OAuth permission scope is write-only for the databases Filed creates.

What happens if I uninstall Filed?

Uninstalling the extension removes all local data. Your Notion databases and their content remain in your Notion workspace, untouched. Nothing to delete on our end because there is nothing on our end.

Does Filed comply with GDPR?

Yes. Filed stores only the minimum needed to operate: your email (from Notion OAuth), your plan status, and anonymous capture statistics. Your captured content never touches our servers. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by contacting support@usefiled.app.

GDPR: Your rights

Filed is operated by Virgile Gouala, auto-entrepreneur, registered in France (SIRET 824 925 465 00034). As a French-based operator, we comply with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés).

What we collect

  • Your email and Notion workspace name, collected at OAuth time to manage your account.
  • Your plan status, updated by our billing provider (LemonSqueezy) on subscription events.
  • Anonymous capture statistics: capture type and country, derived from your IP at save time. IP is discarded immediately; country code only is retained.
  • Basic anonymous visit counts on this website, only if you consent to analytics cookies.

Subprocessors

  • Notion (your workspace): your captured content goes there directly, under your own Notion account.
  • LemonSqueezy: billing and subscription management. Processes payment and notifies Filed of plan changes.
  • Resend: transactional email (trial reminders, billing notifications). Your email is shared for delivery only.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data. To exercise any right, email virgile@goua.la with subject line "GDPR rights request". We will respond within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL: cnil.fr

Retention

Support emails: kept for the duration of the exchange plus 3 years. Account email and subscription status: kept while your account is active, deleted on request. Anonymous capture stats: aggregated, no individual deletion possible as they carry no identifier. Site analytics: retained by Google Analytics per Google’s standard retention settings; you can opt out at any time via the cookie banner or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Extension data stays in your Notion workspace and is entirely under your control.
