Highlight any web page and save to Notion
Most highlighting tools store your marks in a proprietary database you'll eventually stop paying for. Filed sends each highlight directly to Notion, structured, with the source attached.
The highlight lives where the rest of your thinking lives.
Two capture modes
Select any passage on any web page. The Filed selection toolbar appears. Two options:
Quote vs. Highlight
- Quote (free): saves the passage as a Notion quote block with the page title and URL. No color, no side panel.
- Highlight (Pro): saves with one of 8 colors. Opens the side panel so you can add a note before saving. Color attribute stored in Notion.
How to activate
Press ⌘⇧H to activate the selection toolbar, or keep the main Filed toolbar open. Select text on any page and the toolbar appears at the selection. Click Quote or pick a color.
What each save creates in Notion
- The passage as a Notion quote block
- Source page title and URL
- Color attribute (Highlight / Pro only)
- Optional note (if added in the side panel)
- Saved date
A highlight is only useful if you can find it again. Notion is a better address than a proprietary extension database.
Where highlights land
Quotes and highlights route to whichever workflow is active when you capture. If the Articles workflow is selected, they land in your Articles database. You can also route to a dedicated Highlights database with a custom workflow on Pro.
Quote is free on any selection. Color highlights are Pro. Try them for 14 days.
