Capture while offline
Goal: Understand how Filed handles saves when you're offline or Notion is unreachable. Time: Nothing to configure, happens automatically
How it works
Every capture is written to your device's local storage before any API call. If Filed can't reach Notion, no internet, Notion outage, rate limit, the save is queued locally.
Filed checks for connectivity every 60 seconds. When you reconnect, queued captures process automatically in order. Nothing is ever lost.
Seeing queued captures
Open the side panel → ⋯ → History. Queued entries show a yellow Queued status badge. A Retry button lets you force-process immediately without waiting.
Notes
Screenshots are not retried. If a save with a screenshot fails before the Notion page is created, the retry saves without the screenshot.
Captures stay queued indefinitely. There is no auto-expiry, they process when you reconnect, even days later.
Rate limits are handled automatically. Notion API rate limit errors retry without marking the capture as failed.
