Step 1: Open the Filed toolbar
Press ⌘⇧K / Ctrl+Shift+K on the article page to make the toolbar active. This enables the selection toolbar to appear when you select text.
Step 2: Select text and highlight
Select any passage you want to highlight. The selection toolbar appears at the bottom of the viewport. Click Highlight (the marker icon) and choose a color.
The text is visually marked on the page in that color.
Available colors: yellow, blue, green, red, purple, orange, pink, gray.
Step 3: Keep reading and highlighting
Continue reading. Select more passages and highlight them, use different colors to categorize:
- Yellow: key points
- Red: follow up
- Blue: quotes worth reusing
Each highlight accumulates in the session.
Step 4: What lands in Notion
Highlights are included in the next save you make from that page. Open the side panel → Save: all highlights land as quote blocks labeled with their color, alongside any other content.
Note: Highlights disappear when you close or refresh the tab. Make sure to save before leaving.
