Your first save
Goal: Save a webpage to your Notion Captures database. Time: Under 30 seconds (after installation and onboarding) Requires: Filed installed and connected to Notion
Step 1: Open any webpage you want to save
Navigate to an article, product page, tool, or resource you want to keep.
Step 2: Open the Filed toolbar
Click the Filed icon in your Chrome toolbar (or press ⌘⇧K / Ctrl+Shift+K). The toolbar appears at the bottom center of the page as a floating pill.
Step 3: Click URL
Click URL in the Instant zone (the leftmost capture button). The save happens immediately, no form, no confirmation.
Step 4: Check the confirmation
The orb (the animated disc on the left of the toolbar) confirms:
- The destination ("Saved to Captures")
- An Open link to jump to the Notion page
- An Undo button if you saved by mistake
Step 5: Open the Notion page
Click Open in the orb strip, or go to your Captures database in Notion. The new entry has:
- The page title
- The source URL
- Today's date
- Type: Link
